foto/trabzoning2.jpgThe Project of Trabzon Cement factory has been approved in 1964 and the construction of the factory started in 1965. The machines and equipments of the factory were procured from Humboldy company in West Germany and the all the steel constructions and a part of the machineries were manufactured in Turkey. After 2 years of assembly and construction period, the factory  commenced in 1967by firing the rotary kiln. The factory is located at the east part of Trabzon, in Değirmendere location of the Trabzon-Rize state highway and at the seaboard. The factory has been established firstly on 77.861 m2 area. While the factory was affiliated to the General Directorate of Türkiye Çimento and Toprak Sanayii T.A.Ş. (ÇİTOSAN) with a “Affiliated Company” status until 31.07.1991, 12796 shares owned by ÇİTOSAN has been transferred to the Chairmanship of State Partnership Administration (KOİ) in order to be privatized by the resolution of the Higher Planning Counsel dated 31.07.1991 and with number 91/34.  It has been sold to RUMELİ HOLDİNG A.Ş.  and privatized on 03.12.1992. The Trabzon Cement Factory, which was put up for sale by TMSF in 2005, has been purchased by Aşkale Çimento Sanayi T.A.Ş. on 29.12.2005.
