The Van Cement Factory, which was put into service in 1969, was purchased by Uzan Group through privatization. Later on, Egyptian OCI Cement purchased the factory, which was passed to the responsibility of foto/vaning2.jpgTMSF. Upon the Orascom Çement Group, into which the OCI Çimento A.Ş. participated, is purchased worldwide by the French Lafarge in early 2008, the Lafarge Cement acceded. After the legal process and the registration transactions required for the company transfer were completed, the trade name of the Van Cement Factory was changed as Lafarge Van Çimento A.Ş. Once for all, the French Cement’s Giant Lafarge Group has sold the Van Cement to Aşkale. Aşkale Cement started to make capacity increase and improvement investments immediately after the purchase.
